We are working to reduce our environmental footprint improving process efficiency and advancing towards low-emission steel solutions throughout the whole value chain.

100% renewable electrical energy throughout our installations.

Photovoltaic installation that provides 10% of our self-supply compared to our full electricity demand.

The plastic packaging we use is 100% recycled.

We promote intermodal transport alternatives to reduce the emissions associated with logistics, combining trucks with trains or ships for part of the route. Reduction of 10% of emissions in 2025.

We measure the organisation's carbon footprint to determine the real impact of our emissions and define specific reduction plans.

We have the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) verified for our stripped tubes.

What is the percentage of recycled material in our products?
The percentage of recycled scrap metal in our steel tubes varies between 15% and 100%, depending on factors including the product specifications, quality standards and availability of recycled raw material. On average, Aratubo’s welded steel pipes contain 22.6% recycled material, reflecting our commitment to sustainable practices and the circular economy. Furthermore, steel is 100% recyclable, reinforcing its key role in a sustainable production model.

What is Aratubo's organisational carbon footprint?
The carbon footprint of an organisation refers to the total amount of GHG (greenhouse gases) released due to their business activities, both directly and indirectly.
We have had our organisational carbon footprint verified externally for all scopes: 1, 2 and 3 compliant with UNE-EN ISO 14064.

What is the carbon footprint of our products?
We have had the product carbon footprint verified externally compliant with ISO 14067. The verification is conducted on a declared unit of 1 tonne of welded steel tube, with a cradle-to-gate scope.
The footprint can vary depending on the type of tube and the origin of the raw materials (for example, low-emission steel coils).

Do we have a verified EPD? Where can I download it?
Yes. We have had the environmental product declaration (EPD) verified externally, compliant with ISO 14025 and EN 15804. We currently have a registered EPD for stripped steel tubes, with registration no. EPD-IES-0023048, issued on 29/05/2025 and valid until 29/05/2030. You can download the EPD from our Downloads section (Sustainability → ISO 14025).
How does Aratubo report its progress in sustainability?
We publish our sustainability information in the Grupo Arania Non-Financial Status Report and we participate in external evaluations such as EcoVadis, which awarded us the highest classification: the Platinum Medal.
