FAQ
SUSTAINABILITY

What is the percentage of recycled material in our products?

The percentage of recycled scrap metal in our steel tubes varies between 15% and 100%, depending on factors including the product specifications, quality standards and availability of recycled raw material. On average, Aratubo’s welded steel pipes contain 22.6% recycled material, reflecting our commitment to sustainable practices and the circular economy. Furthermore, steel is 100% recyclable, reinforcing its key role in a sustainable production model.

*These calculations have been made internally within Aratubo backed by in-house sources, but without certification.

The carbon footprint of an organisation refers to the total amount of GHG (greenhouse gases) released due to their business activities, both directly and indirectly.

We have had our organisational carbon footprint verified externally for all scopes: 1, 2 and 3 compliant with UNE-EN ISO 14064.

Evolution of organisational CF

We have had the product carbon footprint verified externally compliant with ISO 14067. The verification is conducted on a declared unit of 1 tonne of welded steel tube, with a cradle-to-gate scope.

The footprint can vary depending on the type of tube and the origin of the raw materials (for example, low-emission steel coils).

To determine the data closest to your product, you can contact our sustainability department.

Yes. We have had the environmental product declaration (EPD) verified externally, compliant with ISO 14025 and EN 15804. We currently have a registered EPD for stripped steel tubes, with registration no. EPD-IES-0023048, issued on 29/05/2025 and valid until 29/05/2030. You can download the EPD from our Downloads section (Sustainability → ISO 14025).
